Avalanche Of Surgeries Persists

Bloomberg News

Colorado Avalanche right wing Keith Jones underwent successful surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Jones was injured in Game 6 of Colorado’s first-round playoff series against the Chicago Blackhawks when he was knocked down by Eric Daze.

The 28-year-old Jones, who had three goals and three assists in the opening-round series against Chicago, is expected to make a full recovery in six months, the team said.

Jones is the third Colorado player to have surgery in the last week. Defenseman Uwe Krupp underwent back surgery Tuesday and will miss the rest of the playoffs, while center Stephane Yelle had knee surgery on Monday and will be out for at least two weeks.
