Reinhold Weber Ritzville, Wash.

Service for Reinhold E. “Reiny” Weber will be at 1 p.m. today at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville. Vault burial will be at the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Ritzville. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Weber, who was born in Chelsea, Mich., died Saturday. He was 85.

He worked for the Chelsea Elevator Co. and in 1935 went to work for Henry Ford Soybean Experimental Farm, making the substance used in the first plastic steering wheels.

In 1937 he and his brother, Herman, purchased a hamburger lunch counter and a gasoline station in Ann Arbor, Mich., and in two years built up their business to a restaurant seating 100 diners.

Mr. Weber served in the Army from 1939 to 1946.

He married Norma Plager in 1943 in Ritzville, and they returned to Ann Arbor.

In 1947 he sold his part of the restaurant business and moved to Ritzville, where he operated a service station.

Mr. Weber retired in 1976.

He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church and C.J. Newland American Legion Post No. 51.

His wife died last year.

Survivors include a son, Robert Weber of La Grande, Ore.; a daughter, Sandra Knauer of Plano, Texas; and a brother, Herman Weber of Ann Arbor.

Anita Orcutt Spokane

Memorial service for Anita V. Orcutt, 80, is planned for 3 p.m. today the Country Homes Christian Church. There will be private inurnment. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Orcutt, who was born in Potlatch, Idaho died Thursday.

She was a 21-year Spokane resident and a homemaker.

Her husband, Donald Orcutt died in 1995.

She is survived by a son, David Orcutt of Spokane; two daughters, Donita Walker of Spokane and Judy Burke of Auburn, Calif.; a brother, Edward Vogel of Pullman; a sister, Naomai Nicoles of Lacey, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Country Homes Christian Church.

Vivian Miller Spokane

Service for Vivian C. Miller, 85, will be at 11 a.m today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Pines Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller, who died Friday, was born in Duluth Minn.

She was a graduate of Northwest Business College and had lived in the Spokane area for 69 years.

She was a member of the Liberty Lake Ladies Golf Club and was a homemaker.

Her husband of 43 years, Osmo Miller, died in 1981.

She is survived by two sisters, Vina Johnson of Spokane and Dolly Mills of Deer Park.

Earl Oland Spokane

Memorial service for Earl Oland, 87, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North.

Mr. Oland, who was born in Centralia, Ill., died Friday.

He served in the Army during World War II and retired from the Army Reserve in 1972 after 20 years.

In 1959 he moved to Spokane from Great Falls, Mont., and worked as a salesman and interior decorator for Barkley and Brown Interior Design Co. until 1968.

He then worked as an interior decorator for The Crescent and Liberty Furniture. He retired in 1972.

Mr. Oland participated in the Day Out for the Blind.

His wife of 59 years, Ina Oland, died in 1991.

He is survived by a daughter, Ellen Swears of Gig Harbor, Wash.; a son, Ronald Oland of Carmichael, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Kristine Craigmiles Coeur d’Alene

Visitation for Kristine R. Craigmiles, 32, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Craigmiles, who was born in Texas, died Sunday from cancer.

She grew up in Spokane and graduated from East Valley High School.

She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1985 and married Aaron Craigmiles. He died in 1990.

Mrs. Craigmiles is survived by two sons, Justin and Taylor; her father, Mace Clark of Otis Orchards; her mother, Sharon Clark of Spokane; and two sisters, Kelly Clark of Newman Lake and Karri Clark of Spokane.

Marion D’Andrea Kellogg

Graveside service for Marion A. D’Andrea, 75, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. D’Andrea, who was born in Alberta, died Sunday.

She graduated from high school in Coeur d’Alene and from the University of Idaho.

She moved to the Silver Valley in 1943 and was a teacher at various schools, including Meadow Brook, Wardner, Washington, Sunnyside and Kellogg Junior High School.

She was a member of the American Association of University Women, Delta Kappa Gamma teachers’ sorority, the National Education Association, the West Shoshone Education Association, the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Kellogg, the Emmanuel Episcopal Altar Guild and the Shoshone Medical Center hospital board.

Her husband of 33 years, Alex, died in 1977.

Survivors include a son, Alex D’Andrea of Kingston, Idaho; a daughter, Connie Silvernail of Tacoma; a sister, Peggy Haglund of Wenatchee; and her companion, John Peacock of Kellogg.

Elizabeth Schmidt Spokane

Service for Elizabeth C. Schmidt, 78, will be at 11 a.m Friday at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Schmidt, who was born in Hartline, Wash., died May 21.

She attended Eastern Washington State College and lived in Hartline-Coulee City for 30 years.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Coulee City Presbyterian Church and the Prairie Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She moved to Spokane three years ago.

Her husband of 56 years, Harvey Schmidt, died in April.

Mrs. Schmidt is survived by a daughter, Marian Hood of Pullman; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild

Dennis O’Brien Spokane

Inurnment for Dennis K. O’Brien, 86, will be held in Cut Bank, Mont., at a later date. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. O’Brien, who was born in Cut Bank, died Friday.

He was a 40-year Spokane resident and operated a barber shop on Illinois Avenue for 35 years.

He is survived by two sons, Michael O’Brien of Liberty Lake and Terry O’Brien of Cut Bank; a sister, Judy Manning of Anchorage, Alaska; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Rowan Spokane

Private burial service for Dorothy V. Rowan, 80, was held Tuesday at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Born in St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Rowan died Thursday.

She was a 77-year Spokane resident and had worked as a salesperson at The Crescent.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James; two sons, Alan Rowan of Los Angeles and Steven Rowan of St. Louis; a sister, Donna Graham of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Vesta Field Spokane

Private service for Vesta E. Field, 101, was Saturday at Royal Park Care Center Chapel. Inurnment was in Oroville, Wash.

Mrs. Field died Thursday.

She was born in Slayton, Minn.

She graduated from Cheney Normal School and was a teacher.

Mrs. Field was a member of the Methodist Church in Valley, Wash., and the Valley and Molson Granges.

She moved to Spokane 11 years ago.

Her husband, Howard Field, died in 1994.

Mrs. Field is survived by three daughters, Elaine Fauconnier of Oroville, Ellen VanFlet of Garden Grove, Calif., and Grace Johnson of Denver; four sons, Eugene Field of Spokane, Delbert Field of Valley, and Bryce and Mike Field, both of Loon Lake, Wash.; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Loretta Ostman Coeur d’Alene

Funeral Mass for Loretta Johann Ostman, 61, was held at an earlier date. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ostman, who was born in Winchester, Idaho died Saturday.

She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1960 from Lewiston and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church Ladies Auxiliary.

In 1952 she married John Ostman in Lewiston.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, John Ostman of Troy, Mont., Eric Ostman of Portland and Marc Ostman of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Karla Bryan of Idaho Falls and Mary Hussey of Boise; a brother, Gene Feuchet of Lewiston; three sisters, Barbara Phillips of Bellevue, Wash., Patricia Ingram of Clarkston, Wash., and Carolyn Ohr of Texas; and numerous grandchildren.
