Tough Love
Courtney Love, a former drug addict and widow of Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain, helped kick off a series of anti-drug public service announcements Friday in Los Angeles. “If you want to be a musician, be a musician, be a poet, be a goddess, be a god. Work on your art. Keep your focus,” she said. “The rest of it living on the edge, sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll is not about music.”
Partnership for a Drug-Free America and the Musicians’ Assistance Program have teamed up for a national campaign, releasing six PSA’s featuring Chuck D; Everclear; Fugees lead singer Lauryn Hill; KISS; Brad Nowell’s widow, Troy Nowell; and Scatman John.
