Bruins’ Mccoy May Not Return

Compiled From Wire Services

Suspended UCLA center Jelani McCoy will not return to the Bruins for failing to meet requirements of his suspension, according to a broadcast report Monday.

UCLA officials would not confirm or deny ESPN’s report, saying only that McCoy and Kris Johnson remained on indefinite suspension for violating athletic department policy.

“It’s the same thing - they’re still indefinitely suspended, to be determined at a later date,” Bruins coach Steve Lavin said.

McCoy and Johnson were suspended in late September after they violated the school’s drug policy by testing positive for marijuana, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram. They were given parameters for reinstatement, but UCLA did not say when - or if - they would return.
