Chiefs Roll To 6th Consecutive Win
The numbers keep piling up for the Spokane Chiefs.
With their seventh consecutive road win and sixth win overall, the Chiefs defeated Medicine Hat 5-1 in a WHL matchup Wednesday.
Still, the Chiefs remain one point behind West Division-leading Portland, which defeated Regina 3-2.
Trent Whitfield scored in the first period and Derek Schutz in the second as Spokane took a 2-0 lead into the final period. Medicine Hat’s Jason Chimura scored on a breakaway 7-1/2 minutes into the third period, ending Spokane’s shutout string of 131 minutes, 13 seconds. The Chiefs responded with goals from Brad Ference, Schutz and Ty Jones.
