60 Frozen Turkeys Stolen From Grocery

From Staff And Wire Reports

A thief stole 60 frozen turkeys Monday from the loading dock of a Spokane Valley grocery store, sheriff’s deputies said.

Employees at the Fred Meyer store, 15609 E. Sprague, said they left the turkeys unattended in the bed of a pickup truck about 2:55 p.m., said Dave Reagan, sheriff’s spokesman.

When the workers returned 15 minutes later, 529 pounds of poultry slated for the meat department were gone, he said. The birds are worth $344.
