Child Dies After Fall From High Stool

Compiled From Wire Services

A 6-month-old girl died two days after she toppled off a stool while having a holiday photo taken at a mall and hit her head on the ceramic tile floor.

Vicki L. Dorsey put her daughter on the 29-inch high stool at a photo kiosk in the Quakerbridge Mall and was at her side when she fell Friday night, police said.

Carly Nichole Buffin was hospitalized and died Sunday.

The owner of the Mug Factory Etc., a kiosk that takes photos and prints them on items such as coffee mugs, T-shirts and buttons, said the high school student who was working there when the baby fell was distraught.

“We just feel very bad about it,” said owner Nick Yashin, who operates the business at the mall, about 5 miles north of Trenton.
