Police Say Man Had Fake Money

A man arrested on drug charges Wednesday is also being investigated for passing counterfeit money, police said.

Mark Antone Waters, 32, of 6321 E. Fourth Ave., was booked into Spokane County Jail early Wednesday on charges of driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Police said a fake $50 bill was found in a bag of drugs in Waters’ possession.

He was arrested after witnesses told police a car was weaving on Interstate 90 near Division about 12:30 a.m., and had run over some bushes on the Division Street exit ramp, police said.

Officers found the driver urinating in bushes at Third and Division. A baggie of cocaine and the fake $50 bill were found on him, police said.

The counterfeit investigation is being handled by the U.S. Secret Service.
