Freshman Lifts Wyoming Over Nevada In Shootout

Wendell Montgomery caught a 41-yard touchdown pass from Jay Stoner with 12 seconds left Saturday, giving visiting Wyoming a 34-30 win over struggling Nevada (1-5).

Nevada lost its fourth straight game and is off to its worst start since 1964.

Dutton, coming back from a separated throwing shoulder, completed 20 of 37 passes for 377 yards and two touchdowns.

Stoner, a redshirt freshman making his first college start, was 16 of 31 for 312 yards and three touchdowns. Wyoming (5-2) had 581 yards.

Boise St. 52, New Mexico St. 10:

At Boise, Nate Sparks threw three second-quarter touchdown passes and running back Nicko Tatum rushed for 100 yards and two scores as the Broncos (2-4, 1-1) routed the Aggies (1-5, 0-1).

Lead by Sparks and Tatum, the Broncos erupted for 28 points in the second quarter to lead 38-7 at halftime.
