Domestic Violence Topic At Symposium

From Staff Reports

Holladay Sanderson, executive director of the Women’s Center in Coeur d’Alene, will lead the second annual Terri Dobler Domestic Violence Symposium today in Spokane.

The symposium will be held 8:30 a.m. to noon at Spokane Community College’s Lair-Student Center auditorium. It is free and open to the public.

The symposium is in memory of Dobler, an SCC graduate who died in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend last year. The boyfriend also killed himself.

Sanderson will lead group discussion on patterns of domestic violence, the profile of abusers and victims, and community resources. Two videos will be presented.

The forum is co-sponsored by the SCC Student Awareness League, Spokane YWCA Alternatives to Domestic Violence Program and the Coeur d’Alene Women’s Center Inc. , DataTimes
