Bosnian Elections To Proceed As Planned Next Week
Bosnia’s long-delayed nationwide local elections will go ahead next week as scheduled, the lead organizer of the vote said Friday after talks with Bosnian Serb leaders.
A threatened Bosnian Serb boycott of the Sept. 13-14 elections now appears less likely, said Robert Frowick, of the 54-nation Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
“In my view, we made considerable progress today,” Frowick said, adding without elaboration, “We’ll resolve the remaining problems in the next few days. Those are very difficult issues.”
