Law Enforcement Grant Faces Hearing
The Spokane City Council plans a hearing tonight on a spending proposal for a federal law enforcement grant.
The police department proposes using the $389,440 to upgrade computers, help the county hire a juvenile prosecutor and pay the salary of an accountant to oversee grants.
The federal dollars are given to all cities based on their crime rates and population.
Also today, the council plans a hearing on a proposal to vacate the alley between Joseph and Nebraska avenues from Freya to Sycamore streets.
