First Presbyterian Offers Two Valentine Dinners

FOR THE RECORD: 2-6-98 Dinner not public: Two Valentine dinners held by First Presbyterian Church next week are not open to the public. An item in the South Voice religion column suggested otherwise.

First Presbyterian Church will give valentines a chance to dine out in style - not once, but twice.

The church will host two Valentine’s Day dinners in the coming week.

The youth of the church will serve dinner on Feb. 13. “A Night to Remember” will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The evening will feature Cool Whip, an improvisational comedy team from Whitworth College.

Tickets are $15 per person, and advance registration is required. The proceeds will be used to send church youth on a mission trip to build houses in Mexico in the spring.

To register or for more information, call 747-1058 ext. 133.

Single people of all ages are invited to don semiformal attire and attend the annual Valentine Agape Feast. The elegant evening will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 14.

Advance tickets are $8 per person, and tickets purchased at the door will be $10.

For more information, call 747-1058, ext. 140.

All events will take place at the church, at 318 S. Cedar.

Women’s dessert on Tuesday

The women of Summit Ridge Foursquare Church are inviting members of the community to attend a women’s fellowship dessert at 7 p.m. Tuesday as a way to get acquainted with members of the recently formed church.

The gathering will feature a presentation by Miki Anderson, a local author. Anderson will speak on “The Power of God’s Word in the Life of God’s Woman.”

The free event will be at the Seventh-day Adventist Church at 57th and Freya, where the members of Summit Ridge meet for services.

For more information, call 532-2016.

Dinner planned at Central Methodist Central

United Methodist Church, 518 W. Third, will host a Valentine’s dinner and silent auction after its 10 a.m. worship service on Feb. 15.
