Patrol Mount Spokane

Mount Spokane is opening the door to more ski patrollers for alpine, snowboard and telemarking disciplines, as well as cross-country. But first you have to pass the test.

Strong skiers and boarders who want to join the patrol are encouraged to take the candidates test on Feb. 22. Registration for the downhill categories begins at 7:15 a.m. at the Ski Patrol Lodge. Cross-country candidates will meet at 9 a.m. at Selkirk Lodge.

Candidates must have been 15 years of age by December. Students under 18 must have parental permission. Cost is $5. Info: Downhillers call Bob Streich, 448-1150; cross-country skiers call Gene Petefish, 927-0995.
