Area Tribes Present Indian Dance Festival

From Staff And Wire Reports

The sixth annual American Indian Friendship Dance will be Saturday at West Central Community Center, 1603 N. Belt.

A free meal starts at noon, followed by singing and dancing at 1:30 p.m.

Sponsored by Cheney Cowles Museum, the dance is held each year to give the region’s tribal elders a chance to teach young people the traditional dances and songs of their tribes. Members of the Spokane, Kalispel and Coeur d’Alene tribes will be present.

The public is invited to attend. , DataTimes
