Animal Shelter Offers Spay/Neuter Certificates

From Staff Reports

The Spokane County Animal Shelter will offer discount spay and neuter certificates Tuesday in celebration of Spay Day USA.

The certificates are $10 each and are good for the cost of the sterilization procedure at any of the shelter’s participating veterinarians. The shelter will offer 75 certificates on a first-come, first-served basis, starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The address is 2521 N. Flora Road.

The certificates must be purchased in person, with cash or a check. Limit one per family.

To be eligible, pets must have a current pet license. Their owners must reside in the unincorporated areas of Spokane County, the city of Millwood, the city of Cheney or on Fairchild Air Force Base. Pet owners living within the city limits of Spokane or other incorporated townships are not eligible.

It’s pothole potline season

Spokane County has set up a Pothole Hotline so residents can report pavement problems.

Residents can report the location of a pothole by calling 458-2547 and leaving a message.

The hotline will open Wednesday. The county asks that callers also leave their name and phone number in case crews can’t find the pothole they are reporting.
