Packet, Canon Cut Licensing Compact

Packet Engines and Canon Information Systems have agreed to work together to develop designs and products for the high-performance computer networking market.

Under terms of the agreement, Canon will first license several Packet Engines products, with the option to purchase other products if they are successfully developed.

By licensing the Packet Engines products, “Canon will reduce its time to market, along with the cost and risk associated with developing new product,” Bernard Daines, president and chief executive officer of Packet Engines, said in a news release.

“We are pleased that our two companies will also have an ongoing working relationship in which we together research and expand upon the design of products for the high-speed networking market.”

Spokane-based Packet Engines develops products and intellectual property for the emerging high speed computer network market.
