Two Men Arrested In Burglary Attempt

From Staff Reports

Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men late Wednesday after an attempted burglary at a north Spokane equipment-rental business.

Robert S. Dobbs, 28, and Clinton J. Smith, 37, were booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary, sheriff’s spokesman Dave Reagan said.

Dobbs gave his address as 1648 Campbell in Airway Heights, and Smith said he lives at Picnic Pines Trailer Park in Medical Lake, Reagan said.

Deputies received an alarm call at Rent X, 8000 N. Market, about 10 p.m. When they arrived, they found a hole cut in a fence and a generator on the ground outside the yard, Reagan said.

The men were arrested without incident.

Deputies are also continuing an investigation of two other burglaries at Rent X stores, at 10900 E. Sprague and 6400 N. Wall. In both instances, holes were cut in the fences of the businesses.
