Cenarrusa, At 80, Not Ready To Quit
At the age of 80, Idaho Secretary of State Pete Cenarrusa is not yet ready to retire.
He told the state Republican Party Central Committee meeting Saturday that he will seek re-election for an eighth time.
The Carey sheep rancher has been secretary of state since his appointment by Gov. Don Samuelson on May 1, 1967 - almost 31 years ago. But he said a colleague in North Carolina served for more than 50 years, “so I guess it’s not time to go yet.”
