Tribal Police Arrest Man In Makah Reservation Slaying

A 34-year-old man has been jailed and charged with murder in the death of a man on the Makah Indian Reservation.

Tribal police arrested Greg Oliver Akin, 34, after the body of a missing man was found on the reservation. Authorities have charged Akin, a member of the Makah Indian Tribe, with first-degree murder.

Akin is being held without bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28.

Last week, tribal police and the FBI said they had discovered the body of Artei o Coro Cruz, 22. Cruz, a Mexican national who had been living on the reservation, was last seen Dec. 23. He was reported missing Jan. 2.
