Kids in four Panhandle towns will have better places to play, thanks to grants announced Monday by the Idaho Community Foundation.

The foundation gave 19 grants of $1,000 each statewide for playground improvements.

Recipients included:

Spirit Lake, to purchase materials for new wooden playground structures;

Wallace, to buy and install playground equipment for several neighborhood parks;

Mullan School District, to replace broken and worn out equipment at the school playground, the only one in the area.
