Kmc Names Robin Miller Employee Of The Month

Robin Miller, an accounting assistant at Kootenai Medical Center, has been chosen as the Employee of the Month for February.

Miller, a KMC veteran of 17 years, was chosen for her cooperative attitude, dependability and enthusiastic work ethic.

Rick Palmer, Kootenai County supervisor of building and grounds, has been chosen as the 1997 county Employee of the Year.

Palmer, a five-year county employee, was chosen for his personal dedication and proficiency in construction, landscaping, heating and ventilation. He was credited for a savings of $50,000 to the taxpayers of Kootenai County in the construction of the new Administration Building.

Palmer saved money by eliminating new equipment in exchange for use of existing machinery and chose systems installations that will anticipate easy future upgrades.

The award is given to an employee who has taken an initiative to go above and beyond their duties to uphold and support the county’s values and operating principles.

Vonnie L. Jensen, deputy finance director for the city of Coeur d’Alene, recently earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in financial reporting for her preparation of the city’s comprehensive annual financial report.

The award, the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, was presented to the city by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. It was given for achieving the highest standards in accounting and reporting.
