Nordictrack Cuts Jobs, Seeks Buyer

From Staff And Wire Reports

The company that owns NordicTrack is cutting 400 jobs, or about 14 percent of the work force, at the fitness equipment maker as it explores the possibility of selling the division.

CML Group Inc. disclosed Wednesday that a manufacturing and distribution plant in Glencoe, Minn., where 287 employees work, would be closed by the end of August.

The company has also fired 116 telemarketers working in Chaska, Minn.

NordicTrack, which had employed about 2,800 people, will now depend on outside manufacturers for its equipment.
