The Really Big Show

“Titanic,” the $200 million epic co-produced by 20th Century Fox and Paramount, cruised past “Star Wars” on Saturday to become the top domestic money earner of all time. The shipwreck saga raked in an estimated $465 million, breaking the all-time domestic mark of $461 million set by “Star Wars.” “Titanic” already holds the record for worldwide returns, with receipts in excess of $1.1 billion. But frankly, my dear, “Gone With the Wind,” if you count the 1939 classic’s admissions and multiply by current ticket prices, is still the champ.
