Churchill Downs Inc. entered into an agreement to purchase Ellis Park Race Course and the Kentucky Horse Center for $22 million.

Ellis Park, located in Henderson, Ky., and the Kentucky Horse Center in Lexington, Ky., are currently owned by Racing Corporation of America.

Two-time Olympic skier Marcus Nash made it two U.S. Cross Country Championships titles in 24 hours by winning the 15-kilometer freestyle race at Mount Bachelor Resort in Bend, Ore.

Laura Wilson of Ketchum, Idaho, another two-time Olympic racer, earned the fourth U.S. title of her career, in the women’s 10K.

Esther Schmidt Rupp, widow of former Kentucky basketball coach Adolph Rupp, died of natural causes at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky. She was 95.
