Spend a little — get a lot. Here are travel deals for $100 or less:

• Hawthorn Suites (also usually under $100 a night) has a new partnership with Hyatt Gold Passport and a great promotion to kick it off. Through Dec. 31, complete one stay and, for every stay thereafter at a different Hawthorn, earn a free night redeemable Aug. 15 through June 30, at participating Hawthorn Suites. Details: www.hawthorn .com or www.goldpassport.com.

• Luxury hotel group Pan Pacific has a Leisure Package that includes full American/buffet breakfast for two; extended checkout (to 3 p.m.); and free local newspaper, local phone calls and access to fitness facilities. Locations with rates starting at under $100 include Pacific Sari/Jakarta ($90) and Wuxi Grand Hotel China ($88). Contact: (800) 327-8585; www.panpacific.com.

• Travelers concerned about monitoring spending while traveling can consider the new American Express TravelFunds Card, a prepaid, reloadable card that is fully refundable if lost or stolen and is accepted where American Express is welcomed. The card isn’t linked to a bank account, providing protection from financial or identity theft. Minimum load is $300 (plus $14.95 fee). For a limited time, American Express is offering a free companion airfare to those who purchase a card and book a flight by Sept. 30. Contact: (888) 412-6945.
