Tennis match locations incorrect

Because of a clerical error, the locations of some of next weekend’s Tennis Fest events were incorrect in Friday’s 7. Events on Friday and Sunday will be at the Spokane Racquet Club; events Saturday, including the exhibition match, will be at the Spokane Athletic Club at 4th Avenue.

Error attributed to wrong judge

Convicted murderer Morris “Mel” Goldberg was resentenced because of what the state Supreme Court said was an error by now-retired Spokane County Superior Court Judge Michael Donohue. A story Friday listed the wrong judge because of a reporting error.

IRS didn’t rule on praying for candidates

A Knight Ridder story about the Internal Revenue Service investigating the NAACP’s tax-exempt status after NAACP Chairman Julian Bond criticized the Bush administration included a minister’s claim that the IRS had ruled that he couldn’t pray for the victory or defeat of political candidates. The IRS has never made such a ruling.
