Gonzaga’s Adam Morrison has been named the WCC’s Player of the Week, making him the first player to be so honored for a second time this season. … The WCC, whose eight teams are a combined 29-31 in non-conference play, was ranked No. 11 in the season’s first Collegiate Men’s Basketball Ratings Power Index report, which was released earlier this week. … All of the tickets have been sold to this year’s WCC Tournament, which will be held in GU’s 6,000-seat McCarthey Athletic Center. … Loyola Marymount’s Matthew Knight, a 6-foot-8 junior forward who is averaging a conference-high 10.5 rebounds and a team-high 18.0 points, leads the WCC in double-doubles with four. … Among the WCC’s top newcomers is Pepperdine freshman guard Michael Gerrity, who is averaging 15.4 points and 3.43 assists for the Waves. … San Diego, which is off to a 7-2 start, will play only five of its 27 regular-season games outside the state of California.
