Whitman County: The Southeast District tournament, combining teams from the WCL and the Blue Mountain Conference, begins Friday in Walla Walla. On the boys side, DeSales (19-1) is the top team out of the BML, and someone from the WCL will need to pull an upset to get both bids to state. LaCrosse-Washtucna (17-4) won the WCL tournament, but during the regular season the Tigercats tied for the league title with Garfield-Palouse (15-7) and Tekoa-Oakesdale (16-5). The Gar-Pal (19-2) girls are favorites, with the second state berth likely to be won by one of four teams: T-O (15-7), Liberty Christian of Richland (15-7), Dayton (16-6) or L-W (17-5).

Panorama: The boys league championship, on Friday at Colville, pits Republic (21-1) against Selkirk (15-7). In their only other meeting, Republic beat the Rangers by 35 points on Jan. 22. In the girls championship, Curlew (20-2) plays Cusick (21-1). Cusick won their other meeting by 30 points on Jan. 22.

Bi-County: The Bi-Co tournament has gone according to plan, with Lind-Ritzville (21-1) playing Northwest Christian (20-2) for the boys championship Friday at Reardan, and Sprague-Harrington (19-3) playing Almira/Coulee-Hartline (20-2) for the girls championship the same day at Reardan. L-R beat NWC in both meetings during the regular season, and S-H and ACH split their encounters.

Four teams advance from the Panorama and Bi-County tournaments into the Northeast District, Monday through Feb. 26 at Mt. Spokane and Mead. From there, four teams will advance to the State B tournament at the Arena.
