McGrady lifts Rockets past Spurs 95-87

SAN ANTONIO – Tracy McGrady scored 21 points and the Houston Rockets held off a fourth-quarter rally by San Antonio on Saturday night to win 95-87 and keep the defending champion Spurs winless in the preseason at 0-4.

McGrady scored all of his points in the first half. He left the game late in the second quarter after taking a knee to the midsection, but the team said he was not hurt.

Stromile Swift scored 15 points and Anderson 13 for the Rockets, and Dikembe Mutombo had 11 rebounds.

Tim Duncan had 19 points for San Antonio.
