Possible explosives found during arrests

Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies, following up on a tip that a wanted person was at a Rathdrum residence, arrested the 23-year-old man and three others in the home on drug charges late Tuesday.

After a search of Michael Martin Graupman’s trailer, authorities discovered three possible explosives, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Department. The Spokane Bomb Squad safely removed the devices.

Graupman was featured Monday in the Sheriff’s Department’s warrant roundup, which appears in local newspapers. He was wanted on a $25,000 warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies received a tip he was at his home, the press release said.

Graupman was arrested on the warrant and is facing an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance and attempted destruction of evidence, the release said.

Three others at the home were also arrested around midnight Tuesday.

Elizabeth Guydos, 30, of Post Falls, was arrested on suspicion of frequenting a place where drugs are present. Amber Annmarie Smith, 27, of Rathdrum, was also arrested on suspicion of frequenting and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Donald Scott Miller, 35, of Rathdrum, was arrested on suspicion of probation violation and possession of paraphernalia.

The release said additional charges may be pending.
