Free dump passes available on Saturday

Free dump passes will be handed out Saturday and Monday at the Northwest COPS Shop, 2215 W. Wellesley Ave., Suite D, in the Shadle Mall. The passes, valued at $20, will be good for Sept. 2-10.

One hundred passes will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis at 10 a.m. Saturday. The remaining hundred will be given out at 10 a.m. Monday. Only residents of the Northwest Neighborhood are eligible. Residents will be asked to show proof of residence when picking up a pass.

The Northwest Neighborhood is west of Ash Street to the Spokane River and bounded by Francis Avenue on the north and Fairview Avenue to Belt Street to Indiana Avenue on the south.

•A Community Assembly land-use committee meeting is set for 5 to 6 p.m. today in City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., Conference Room 5-A. The Community Assembly includes representatives from the neighborhood councils.

•A Community Assembly public safety and code committee meeting will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in City Hall, Conference Room 5-A, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.
