Huskies face Ohio State in regional
The University of Washington continues its quest for a second consecutive national volleyball title today in Seattle.
The sixth-seeded Huskies (27-4) square off against 11th-seeded Ohio State (25-7) in the second regional semifinal contest at 7:30 p.m.
Four-time defending Big Ten champions Penn State (31-2) faces No. 14 Purdue in the first regional semifinal match at 5.
Wrestling
Robby Shaw finished with an 11-2 major decision over Michael Freeman (285 pounds) and Josh Manes (133) edged Ryan Hecker 9-7, but North Idaho fell 27-17 to visiting Northwest Wyoming.
The Cardinals (4-3) couldn’t come up with any pins to counter the Trappers’ four pins. Kyle Sand (184), Coby Jones (149) and Heinrich Barnes (141) earned victories for NIC.
