Nuggets knock out New York

What seemed like another frustrating game for the New York Knicks got even more maddening when a brawl broke out near the end of a game against the Denver Nuggets at Madison Square Garden in New York Saturday night.

Carmelo Anthony scored 34 points before the melee occurred with about 1:15 left in the Nuggets 123-100 victory over the Knicks.

Denver was having its way with New York before a hard foul, by Knicks reserve Mardy Collins on the Nuggets’ J.R. Smith, set off a brawl which resulted in the ejection of all 10 players on the court.

Marcus Camby finished with 24 points and nine rebounds for the Nuggets.

Celtics 106, Bobcats 100: At Charlotte, N.C., Paul Pierce scored 35 points to lead Boston over Charlotte.

Gerald Wallace scored 31 points and Emeka Okafor added 12 points for the Bobcats.

Charlotte’s Adam Morrison finished the night shooting 6 for 17 from the field for 16 points.

Magic 81, Cavaliers 74: At Orlando, Fla., Grant Hill scored 21 points and Dwight Howard added 14 points and 16 rebounds and Orlando defeated Cleveland.

Lebron James led Cleveland with 29 points.

Heat 98, Grizzlies 90: At Miami, Dwyane Wade, returning from a two-game absence, scored a season-high 41 points to lead Miami to a victory over Memphis.

Pau Gasol scored 11 points in 17 minutes for the Grizzlies.

Bulls 106, Hawks 104 (OT): At Atlanta, Andres Nocioni and Kirk Hinrich finished with 24 points to lift Chicago to an overtime win over Atlanta.

Marvin Williams matched a career high with 23 points and Joe Johnson also had 23 points for the Hawks.

Mavericks 90, Hornets 79: At New Orleans, Dirk Nowitzki scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half and grabbed 10 rebounds to help Dallas win over New Orleans.

Chris Paul had 30 points and 12 rebounds for the Hornets.

Pistons 90, Nets 82: At East Rutherford, N.J., Chauncey Billups had 27 points and 11 assists to lead Detroit to a victory over New Jersey.

Nenad Krstic had a season-high 27 points for the Nets.

Spurs 103, 76ers 98: At San Antonio, Tony Parker had 24 points and Tim Duncan added 21 to lead San Antonio to a win over Philadelphia.

Andre Iguodala tied his career high with 27 points for the 76ers.

Bucks 108, Timberwolves 104: At Milwaukee, Michael Redd and Mo Williams scored 28 points to lead Milwaukee over Minnesota.

Kevin Garnett finished with 26 points for Minnesota.

Suns 105, Kings 98: At Sacramento, Calif., Steve Nash had 16 points to lead Phoenix to its 14th straight win.

John Salmons added 20 points and Ron Artest finished with 16 for Sacramento.
