The Trail Blazers and Qyntel Woods have settled their pay dispute over his suspension for animal abuse.

The Trail Blazers suspended Woods in 2004 during an investigation into allegations about pit bull and dog fighting. The settlement means the dispute won’t go to arbitration.

The settlement involves pay withheld from Woods in the 2004-05 season, when he was supposed to be paid $1.1 million for the third year of a three-year contract. The Trail Blazers will keep about $500,000, said spokesman Art Sasse.

The Hornets and 76ers extended the deadline for a trade involving Sixers backup center Steven Hunter until noon today, giving New Orleans more time to analyze the results of Hunter’s physical exam taken Friday.
