Chateau de Loire hearing set

The Spokesman-Review

Chateau de Loire, a proposed $150 million golf and lake club overlooking Lake Coeur d’Alene, is back and ready for public comment Thursday.

In November, a county hearing examiner ruled that Kirk-Hughes Development of Las Vegas needed to give the county more information before the approval process could continue.

The company wants to build a French-themed 18-hole golf course and 475 luxury homes and condos in addition to a day spa, community dock and athletic center. The 578 acres is the former Flying Arrow Ranch that overlooks Moscow Bay. The property lies on either side of state Highway 97.

In November, the hearing examiner said that the company had made too many changes and that the application lacked sufficient information regarding access along the highway and the protection of area streams and wetlands.

The 6 p.m. hearing is at the Kootenai County Administration Building, 451 Government Way. For more information, call (208) 446-1070.
