Raiders receiver Jerry Porter played for the first time all season Sunday, only four days after Oakland cut his four-game suspension in half.

Porter, who was inactive for the first four games of the year before his suspension, was in uniform for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Johnnie Morant was inactive. Coach Art Shell called Porter’s number for the Raiders’ first play of the second quarter, using him in the slot alongside Randy Moss. Quarterback Andrew Walter threw his way on second down, but the pass was incomplete.

Porter also came out for the next series and made a 19-yard reception over the middle that gave Oakland first-and-goal on the 4, setting up Sebastian Janikowski’s 19-yard field goal that gave Oakland a 10-6 halftime lead.

Porter received a warm ovation from the sellout crowd after the catch and high-fived a couple of teammates before running to the sideline.

He was suspended for four games Oct. 15 for insubordination a day after being kicked out of practice by Shell.

Bush injury not serious

Saints rookie running back Reggie Bush injured his left ankle on a short reception late in New Orleans’ 35-22 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, but later said he still expected to play next week in Tampa Bay.

Bush was wrenched to the ground by linebacker Bart Scott, who rolled over Bush’s lower legs as the two spun down.

“I just sprained my ankle a little bit,” Bush said. “It hurt at the time obviously but it’s feeling better now.”

Bush had 16 yards rushing on five carries and four catches for 5 yards, but also fumbled and threw an interception before the injury.

It was his worst game of the season.

Panthers’ Lucas leaves game early

Carolina cornerback Ken Lucas left during the game against the Dallas Cowboys with a groin injury.

Lucas was injured in the first quarter when he tackled Terrell Owens after a 6-yard completion. He got up slowly, limped back to the huddle, but had trouble on the next play – he fell down behind the ball, which was intercepted by teammate Chris Gamble.

Lucas had difficulty sitting up on the bench, and was limping toward the locker room when Carolina converted the turnover into a touchdown by Steve Smith one play later.

Panthers rookie Richard Marshall replaced him, drawing the Owens assignment.

Andruzzi goes down against Jets

Browns guard Joe Andruzzi left the game against the New York Jets in the second quarter with an injured right knee.

Blocking for Reuben Droughns, Andruzzi was bent back awkwardly in the pile. He was helped off the field and carted to the locker room for X-rays.

There was no immediate word on the extent of his injury.

Browns linebacker Willie McGinest also left in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.
