U.S. women win

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia – Jantel Lavender scored 25 points Friday to lead the USA U19 women to an 85-66 win over Czech Republic at the world basketball championships.

University High graduate Angie Bjorklund added four points for the Americans (7-0), who will meet Spain (5-2) in today’s semifinals.

The U.S. team has defeated Spain twice during the past two weeks.
