Lynx too much for ailing Storm

Seimone Augustus scored 21 points and the Minnesota Lynx took advantage of the depleted Seattle Storm to win 95-74 on Tuesday night in Minneapolis.

The Storm were without leading scorer and rebounder Lauren Jackson and second-leading rebounder Janell Burse, and couldn’t overcome the losses.

Jackson is in Australia to be with an ill family member, while Burse sat out with damaged ligaments in her left wrist.

Mercury 96, Sparks 93: At Los Angeles, Penny Taylor scored 23 points and made two free throws with 11 seconds to play as Phoenix beat the Sparks.

Monarchs 81, Sun 79: At Uncasville, Conn., Kara Lawson scored 21 points and Sacramento clinched a playoff spot with a win over Connecticut.

Mystics 77, Silver Stars 73: At San Antonio, Alana Beard scored 19 points and Nakia Sanford added 18 to help Washington beat the Silver Stars.

Fever 75, Sky 70 (2OT): At Chicago, Anna DeForge had 16 points and Tamika Whitmore added 15 as Indiana beat the Sky.

Liberty 77, Comets 71: At Houston, Loree Moore and Janel McCarville each scored 17 points to help New York beat the Comets.
