Knol receives WSU’s regents scholarship

Kaitlynn Knol, a senior at Mount Spokane High School received a Distinguished Regents scholarship from Washington State University. She is the daughter of Keith and Pam Knol of Mead.

“The semifinalists were recently announced in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program. Zachary Weber of Gonzaga Prep, Jacob Erb of Mead High School, and Emma Perkins and Nathaniel Wynn, both of St. George’s School, also made the list.

Tim Matthews from North Central High School received recognition as a National Merit Commended Student for his high academic performance on his PSAT.

Nicholas Landry of Spokane received a private pilot’s license at Spokane Airways with the Chris Hanly Aviation Scholarship. He graduated from Mead High School in 2007.

“Westview Elementary announced its Recipients for Responsibility awards. Students are listed by their grade level.

Sixth grade: Michael Barton, Kaylyn Carson, Josue Corrick, Nicholas Hauger, Athena Miller, James Murphy.

Fifth grade: Taylor Cassan, Anjelika Cyr, Courtney Harmon, Drake Hughes, Max Lund.

Fourth grade: Alexis Hinkle, Abdul Johnson, Laurie Jones, Eryn Pederson, Zach Sanders, Andrew Tortorello.

Third grade: Jacey Ellis, Max Neuman, Taylor Stanley-Allen.

Second grade: Cassidy Anyan, Wyatt Eitreim, Makenna Fromm, Lucy Lund, Chase Thames.

First grade: Rylie Morrow, Jasmyn Moss.

Kindergarten: Cary Bonnett, Kellan Burns, Evette Salazar, Rebekah Wilson.
