The Spokesman-Review

Bi-County League teams swept the first round of the District 7 2B girls high school basketball playoff games from the Panorama League on Monday at Spokane Falls and Spokane community colleges.

No. 1 seed Liberty recorded a 50-36 victory over Northwest Christian, No. 2 Lind-Ritzville squeaked past Republic 34-32, No. 3 Davenport was a 61-47 winner over Springdale and No. 4 Reardan beat St. George’s, but the score was unreported.

That sets up Wednesday’s second round with Lind-Ritzville against Reardan at 5 p.m. and Davenport playing Liberty at 6:45, both at SFCC. At SCC in loser-out games, Republic and St. George’s play at 5 and Springdale and NWC at 6:45.

Shawn Hennessey, Cami Bullock and Caitlin Jeske scored 12 points apiece to lead Liberty (19-2) past a Crusaders (12-10) team that took the Lancers to two overtimes last week. Jessica Dahm’s 10 points led NWC.

Lind-Ritzville (14-7) struggled from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, missing 4 of 5, including the first of three one-and-one opportunities, and weathered a charge from Republic (11-10). Cassie Cole and Danielle Sackmann had nine points each to lead L-R.
