A $24.1 million bond measure to expand and renovate Deer Park High School was failing with 57.9 percent support in Tuesday’s unofficial election results. A 60 percent majority was needed for approval.

Although the proposal had 62 percent support in the Spokane County portion of the Deer Park School District, it had only 48.7 percent support in the Stevens County portion.

The overall vote in unofficial election night results was 1,629 in favor and 1,183 opposed.

In other Stevens County results:

“A Colville School District operating levy was passing narrowly with 61.4 percent support, 2,725 to 1,712.

“A Northport school levy was passing with 62.3 percent support, 291 to 176.

“A Kettle Falls school levy was failing with 58.4 percent support, 1,059 to 755.

“An emergency medical services levy for Fire District 8, in northern Stevens County, had 73.9 percent support, 96 to 34.

Auditor Tim Gray said 7,758 of 14,378 mail-in ballots had been received by Tuesday, and all but questionable ballots were counted. More ballots – perhaps several hundred, Gray predicted – will be counted on Friday.

In Lincoln County results:

“An Odessa School District operating levy was passing with 65.3 percent support, 333 to 177.

“An operating levy for Odessa-based Lincoln County Public Hospital District had 74.9 percent support, 400 to 134.

“Almira-based Lincoln County Park and Recreation District 2’s proposed levy had 85.7 percent support, 120 to 20.

“The Almira school levy had 71.5 percent support, 113 to 45.
