Year of the Pig celebration planned
The Spokane Chinese Association invites the community to celebrate the Year of the Pig on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.
Festivities begin at 1 p.m. in Building 17 with a Chinese Cultural Fair. There will be talent shows throughout the event, which ends at 5 p.m.
Dragon dancing, traditional children’s plays, music and a traditional-dress fashion show are also planned.
Activities include Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting and making spring flowers. Visitors can have their names translated from English to Chinese, buy arts and crafts, taste Asian cuisine and explore the traditions of Chinese culture.
Special activities and games will be available for children. Admission is $3 and free for children under 12.
