Missing musher, dogs found unharmed

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

A lost 33-year-old woman and her team of 14 sled dogs were found unharmed late Monday in the mountains of North Idaho.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department had been requesting information on the whereabouts of Christina Lyle, who left the Hayden Creek Gauging Station at the east end of Ohio Match Road around noon Saturday, deputies said.

The woman’s planned route of travel was from Hayden Creek over Hudlow Saddle to the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River, according to a news release.

She reportedly planned to travel down the river on Forest Service Road 209 to Lieberg Road, up and over Lieberg Saddle to Magee Ranger Station, where a warming hut is located.

From Magee, Lyle reportedly planned to loop back to Cascade Saddle, then to Horse Haven Airstrip, back to Hudlow Saddle and then to her car.

Additional details were not available Monday.
