Jaycee Carroll scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half and Chaz Spicer added 12 for Utah State. … Quinton Hosley scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Fresno State past Louisiana Tech in Fresno, Calif. Eddie Miller had 15 of his 17 points in the second half for Fresno State, all coming on 3-pointers. … Justin Hawkins scored 20 points and had seven rebounds and New Mexico State beat San Jose State in San Jose, Calif.

Danny Pariseau (EWU/Shadle Park High) hit four 3-pointers on the way to 14 points for the Broncos. … Kingsley Costain scored 18 of his 22 points in the first half and Pepperdine withstood a late charge to upset Saint Mary’s in Moraga, Calif. Diamon Simpson missed a tipin at the buzzer for the Gaels after a missed shot by John Winston in the waning seconds.

Nick Dissly led the way for Montana State with 24 points. … Jordan Hasquet had 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Matt Dlouhy (Lake City High) added 16 points as Montana defeated Northern Colorado at Greeley, Colo. … Paul Hafford came off the bench to score 21 points and Portland State beat Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho. Ryan Sommer hit two free throws with 25 seconds to go to give Portland State a 66-65 lead.
