Blue Jays 13, Twins 1: At Toronto, Gregg Zaun homered and drove in four runs, and the Blue Jays tied a franchise record with an 11-run sixth inning in a victory over Minnesota. Zaun singled and scored in the fifth, then added both an RBI double and a three-run homer in the sixth.

Angels 7, Athletics 6: At Anaheim, Calif., Maicer Izturis hit an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth after Francisco Rodriguez blew a three-run lead in the top half, and Los Angeles beat Oakland. Rodriguez took the ball with a 6-3 lead and failed to preserve the win for John Lackey.

Orioles 6, Devil Rays 1: At Baltimore, Erik Bedard allowed one run in six innings to earn his sixth straight victory, and the Orioles beat Tampa Bay. Bedard (10-4) struck out eight – including Ty Wigginton three times. The left-hander gave up six hits, walked two and lowered his ERA to 3.05, No. 5 in the league.

Indians 1, Red Sox 0: At Cleveland, Fausto Carmona pitched eight shutout innings to lead the Indians over Boston. Carmona allowed four singles and raised his scoreless innings streak to 18. After throwing 113 pitches, Joe Borowski worked the ninth for his 29th save.

Yankees 7, Royals 1: At Kansas City, Mo., Alex Rodriguez hit his 499th homer, and Melky Cabrera and Hideki Matsui also went deep in New York’s victory over the Royals. Mike Mussina allowed one run and six hits in 5 2/3 innings. Gil Meche gave up five runs and nine hits in 7 1/3 innings.

Tigers 13, White Sox 9: At Chicago, Ryan Raburn, making an emergency start after Gary Sheffield was scratched from the lineup, hit two homers and drove in seven runs to lift Detroit over the White Sox. Raburn hit homers in the third and fourth innings.
