CALDWELL, Idaho – Authorities have charged a 32-year-old woman with having a sexual relationship and a child with a 14-year-old boy.

Roseanna Villanueva, of Caldwell, was charged in 3rd District Court in Canyon County with felony lewd conduct with a child under 16. Court records say the affair lasted more than two years and began when she was assigned as his temporary guardian.

Investigators began looking into the case after being alerted to a photograph on a Web site showing Villanueva and the teen, now 17, and a baby, with a caption referring to the teen as the baby’s father. A paternity test showed a 99.9 percent probability the boy is the baby’s father, according to court records.

In subsequent interviews with investigators, the teen said he began having a sexual relationship with Villanueva two weeks after he started living with her family in the spring of 2005. The affair continued until Villanueuva’s husband and church officials learned about it, records show.

Allegations of an improper relationship between the two were first reported to Caldwell police in June 2005, but it was the discovery of a photograph on the Web site that provoked detectives to begin a more thorough investigation in October 2006.

Villanueva was charged last week and posted a $25,000 bond and was released. She is scheduled to be arraigned June 27.

Villanueva has an unlisted telephone number and could not immediately be reached for comment by the Associated Press.

Court papers indicate she and her husband divorced in March and share custody of their four children, the oldest of whom is 11.

Caldwell police Capt. Chris Algood said the teen is living with his family in Washington state.
