8 to Watch: Craig Bradshaw

Craig Bradshaw’s basketball resume features more highlights than that of most NBA players.

A native of Wellington, New Zealand, Winthrop’s 6-foot-10 senior already has represented his home nation in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, as well as the FIBA World Championships last summer in Japan.

“I feel that just because I’ve been in the Olympics and … World Championships I can take more of a leadership (role) on the team,” Bradshaw said. “I think players do look up to that in the respect that I have been places.”

Bradshaw has played an integral role this season, averaging 13.3 points and 6.3 rebounds. He’s a solid outside shooter, and his style of play looks more Euro than Yankee. Nearly a third of his shots originate beyond the 3-point arc, where he’s 30 for 95.
