Achievements

EWU Presidental Scholarship winners

Eastern Washington University announced the following students as the recipients of the Presidential scholarships for the 2007-2008 academic year.

Cassandra Shanholtzer of Spokane received a $2,000 award. She is the daughter of Toby and Julie Shanholtzer of Spokane and will graduate from Mead High School in June.

Megan Mickelson of Spokane received a $2,000 award. She will graduate from Shadle Park High School in June and is the daughter of Mark and Michelle Mickelson of Spokane.

Samantha Martell of Spokane was awarded $2,000. She is a senior at Mead High School and is the daughter of Mark and Nancy Martell of Spokane.

Marina Volkova of Spokane received a $2,000 award. The daughter of Vyacheslav and Lyudmila Volkova of Spokane, Volkova will graduate in June from Bryant Enrichment Cooperative and Spokane Community College Running Start program.

Sarah Fincher of Mead was awarded $2,000. She will graduate from Mt. Spokane High School in June and is the daughter of John and Barbara Fincher of Mead.

Leanna Kendall of Spokane received a $2,000 award. She will graduate in June from North Central High School and is the daughter of Ron and Carmen Kendall of Spokane.

Caroling Fletcher of Spokane was awarded $2,000. She is the daughter of Charlie and Jan Fletcher of Spokane and will graduate in June from Bryant Enrichment Cooperative.

Zackary Layton of Spokane received a $2,000 award. He is a senior at Mt. Spokane High School and is the son of Richard and Angela Layton of Mead.

Brianna Matson of Spokane received a $2,000 award. She is the daughter of Dennis and Melanie Matson of Spokane and will graduate from Deer Park High School in June.

Jassmine Burke of Spokane was awarded $2,000. She is the daughter of Shawn Burke and RuthAnn Lukenbill of Spokane and is a senior at North Central High School.

Ryan Coumont of Spokane was awarded $2,000. He will graduate from Mt. Spokane High School in June and is the son of Matthew and Ronda Coumont of Spokane.

Alexandra Stierwalt of Spokane received a $2,000 award. She will graduate from North Central High School in June and is the daughter of John and Debbie Stierwalt of Spokane.

Andrew Pittz was awarded $1,000. He is a senior at Mt. Spokane High School and is the son of Monte and Melissa Pittz of Colbert.

Holmes posts honor roll

Holmes Elementary School named honor roll students for the second trimester of the 2006-2007 academic year. Also included are students named to the first trimester honor roll.

Holmes honors student citizenship

Holmes Elementary recently held a Holmes Heroes Luncheon where students were recognized for their good citizenship, good behavior, and completing their schoolwork and homework on time. Students are listed by their grade level.
