The Spokesman-Review

When you need answers or tips on how to organize your stuff, this list of worthwhile sites is a good place to start. Some of them deal with life plans and personal goals; others focus on smaller issues.

“ Answers.Yahoo.com. One of the few answers-by-anyone sites that still survives, Yahoo Answers is populated by thousands of people who generally do a good job of finding information on all manner of questions. This week’s list include answers regarding how you best break in a pair of ice skates and how you identify a quality pearl.

“ Achieve-It.com. This is a one-man blog produced by former tech developer Brad Isaac. It’s darned close to a life-coaching kind of site, with lots of focus on goals and ways to achieve them.

“ Lifehacker.com. One of the Web’s top 100 sites, Lifehacker is a compendium of assorted advice, nearly all of it focused on using technology more productively. Worth bookmarking.

“ Dumblittleman.com. This site’s main page last week offered advice on how to keep your teeth white with strawberries (at http://www.dumb littleman.com/2007/08/how- to-keep-your-teeth-white.html). Its approach is offbeat and a bit tabloidy. But it’s fun to browse.

“ Howstuffworks.com. Another nicely organized site with simple categories by which to browse. Last week’s features included: how the iPhone works, how air conditioners work, and why the universe appears to have a hole in its center.
